If a water feature is designed and constructed properly, there will be no problems and little maintenance.  If it is not, there will always be problems that no amount of maintenance can fix.  DreamScapes has 30 years of experience creating next level water feature and landscape projects.  We are Master Certified Aquascape Contractors, licensed, bonded and insured.

Certified Aquascape Contractors, or CACs design and create the best water features in the world.  We are highly trained, licensed contractors who are constantly sharing tips with each other about Aquascape products, and techniques that we work with.  CACs are part of a TRIBE of contractors that work together as collaborators, not against each other as competitors.  Aquascapes is located near Chicago.  They developed the ecosystem process we work with and are constantly innovating new products as well.  Aquascapes trains and equips us CACs with the highest quality water feature products available.

Pond: A pump in a large specially designed box called a Skimmer draws water in from the edge of the pond and pushes it up to the top where it flows through a Biofalls and back down to the pond.  Both the skimmer and biofalls have filtration mats where bacteria can establish itself.  An automatic water fill maintains the desired water level at all times.

Pondless Waterfall: A pump inside a large specially designed box called a Vault within the basin pushes water to the top where it flows out of a Spillway and back through the falls.  An automatic water fill in the vault maintains the desired water level at all times.

A Pond runs continuously, has waterfalls and an open body of water exposed to the elements.  They are usually 2' deep, but can be deeper. 

A Pondless Waterfall has streams and waterfalls that flow into a basin set in the ground that is covered with rocks and gravel.  They can be set to turn on and off with a timer.  

Our pumps are VERY energy efficient. When running continuously, smaller pumps cost about $30-$40 per month and larger pumps costs about $50 per month, around $1-$2 a day!  

Fountainscapes are quite easy to maintain because they are so small.

Pondless Waterfalls require little maintenance.  They are usually pressure washed and drained once every year or two.

Ponds are easy to maintain if designed and constructed properly.  Once the beneficial bacteria is fully established in the first 6 weeks, the water quality is clean and clear. 

Proper planting plays a critical role in a water feature looking natural and beautiful.  Water Plants also help to maintain the clarity and balance of a pond.  Fish like Koi, Goldfish and Mosquito fish help to keep ponds clean by eating algae.

The experience of swimming in a recreation pond is profound.  The water feels different on your skin and in the eyes as well.  It is softer and doesn't smell, like chemically treated pools do.  The magical totality of swimming in crystal clear water surrounded by plants and fish is hard to describe in words.   Then, when night sets in, and the color changing LED lights turn on, there is a whole new way to experience your magical underwater DreamScape World!
