James Hiestand has been creating DreamScapes since 1992.  A Master Certified Aquascape Contractor, James’ passion for creating ecosystem water features and custom landscaping is palpable and contagious, on every project. James and his team have extensive experience in all aspects of designing and constructing outdoor living spaces. They integrate design, engineering, drainage, grading, irrigation, stonework, lighting, hardscape, carpentry and planting into every project. What makes a DreamScape so special is the seamless integration between our water features and their surrounding landscapes. The wholistic approach of designing/ installing from start to finish allows for us to make wonderful modifications and improvements to the design of our project as we progress in it’s construction.

 Aquascapes, based out of Chicago, is the main source of training and pond making materials for all Certified Aquascape Contractors. They design and manufacture the highest quality pond construction materials in the world. Once a year, all of us CACs converge at Aqualand (Aquascapes’ amazing headquarters near St. Charles, IL.) for an event called Pondemonium, where we train, network and collaborate on a large project together. There are reginal training events around the US we attend as well.
